  • Our name reflects what we believe: every family, every body, every pregnancy, every birth, and every postpartum experience deserves care that respects individual needs, values, and circumstances. NEST represents the way we approach that care: Nurture, Empower, Support, and Thrive.

  • A doula collective is a group of independent doulas who work collaboratively while maintaining their own individual businesses. Each doula contracts with and is paid directly by her own clients, while the collective allows us to share knowledge, resources, and reliable backup when needed.

  • You may request a specific Every Nest doula when you contact us. If you do not have a preference, we will connect you with a doula based on availability and the services you need. You will contract directly with and receive care from that individual doula, with another Every Nest doula available as backup if needed.

  • Yes. Before signing a contract, you will have a free interview meeting with your doula. This meeting usually lasts about an hour and can take place in your home or at a community location, according to your preference. It is a chance to ask questions, learn more about her approach, and decide whether she feels like a good fit for your family. There is no obligation to hire the doula after meeting. We want each family to choose the support that feels right for them.

  • Not always. You will work primarily with the doula you contract with, but you may also meet other Every Nest doulas through classes, community events, or for backup arrangements. Birth clients will know which Every Nest doula may attend their birth if their primary doula is unavailable.

  • Every birth can benefit from doula support, whether it takes place in a hospital, birth center, or home. This includes unmedicated births, epidurals, inductions, planned cesareans, and births that change course along the way. Your doula will help you prepare, understand your options, and feel supported throughout the experience.

  • It is helpful to hire a doula early in pregnancy, especially if you want plenty of time to prepare together or have a specific doula in mind. However, it is never too late to ask! We welcome inquiries at any point in pregnancy and will let you know what availability we have.

  • Every birth client has backup support through the Every Nest collective. If your primary doula cannot attend because of illness, an emergency, or overlapping births, another Every Nest doula will step in so that you are not left without care.
